My Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

Its only 1 PM, but already

9 AM Ike rolled under Ollie's bed finding himself stuck to a spider sticky pad full of Ginormous Hobo looking spiders...dead, but HUGE. As if jelly fish weren't scary enough to Ike in Nemo....I guarantee we are going to be having nightmares tonight!

9: 05 AM Ike's in tub, AGAIN, to get stickiness off

9:45 AM We are driving to SL to my Dr Appt (I am having sinus issues/ear ache...I know, who gets ear aches past 4 years old)

9:50 AM Ollie Flings his gogurt around my car like a sparkler creating a coating of gogurt all over me, Ike and himself...not to mention the seats, windows, carpet flooring.

9:55 AM Ollie now looks like Kramer because his hair is full of sticky gogurt and he is trying to pull it out himself

10:15 AM Ike says he is going to throw up...I had him back an empty gatorade bottle...knowing he will never be able to aim that well.

10:45 AM We pull in to the Dr office and wait for Randy to show up...Thank you Rand!
11:30 AM I am still waiting for the Dr
12:00 PM I am getting XRays for my sinuses and perscriptions for both Ear Infection/Sinus Infection
12:10 PM My kids are screaming, running, screaming, crying, running through Jolley Pharmacy while I drop off my perscription.
12:15 PM Ike takes all the coffee straws out of the container at Emigration Market and dumps them on the floor.
12:20 PM Ollie runs in to the road on 17th East...I go chasing after him...luckily cars see us both and feel very bad for the poor little boy who has the crazy mother who can't keep up with her son.

12:28 PM I put my LARGE Diet Coke in the cup holder which is also holding a full opened Gogurt causing the gogurt to gieser up in to the air hitting the sunroof, seats and dashboard of my car.

12:30 PM My kids are screaming, running, screaming, crying, running through Jolley Pharmacy while I pick up my antibiotic...the store was glad to see us go!

12:45 PM Ike drops his entire Medium Lemonade (Medium drink was all they had at Emigration today...my lucky day) all over the car seats

1: 15 PM I get Ollie out of the car at home. Ollie trips and falls onto his Medium Lemonade causing the drink to open up and Ollie to land in a big puddle of liquid.

Is it possible its only 1 PM! I sit here now, both boys asleep, sipping my Diet Coke and eating my Emigration Club Sandwich....Ahhh!

4 PM Trip to Bischoff's to get my car cleaned!!

Happy Father's Day Rand!

Our "Van"
We spent our father's day weekend a little different this year. Randy and I trained (sort of) and ran the Wasatch Back this past weekend. Its a 188 mile relay race with 12 members on each team (or less if you are CRAZY!). I have enjoyed running for some time, but for Randy, this was a first. He did great. With limited time to train (due to a test he took a few weeks ago that has taken his life away for the last six months) and a hurt knee, Randy was able to finish some of the hardest legs there were in the race.
We drove up to the Logan, UT at 9 AM Friday morning to begin the race. I was the first runner. I took off on my first leg and our "Van" followed me along the way to give me support. It was so fun hanging out in the car with great people. We laughed and cheered each other on all along the way. Randy was the 6th runner. After my brother in law ran up to Avon Pass covered in dust and dirt, the baton was passed off the Randy where he started a steep descent into Eden/Huntsville. He ran much of it on loose gravel and dirt, but did great and we met him at the finish line. At that point, our other six teammates took the reins and we went to a condo to shower and relax for a few hours. I started up again at SnowBasin by 6PM to run from Snowbasin and then down trappers loop. It was a great run...I LOVE downhills!! But today I am feeling it! I got to pass off to my sister, Macy and off she went heading in to Morgan. All our team members continued running (Ryan, Erin, Bryan) until it was Randy's turn again. He started at about 9 PM to run 8 miles UPhill to get to East Canyon Reservoir. It was a trek. I was just sitting in the car trying to figure out how we could be this crazy to do something like this. He just kept running. It was pitch dark (no moon) and as you looked up the mountain all you could see was hundreds of little lights flickering up as hundreds of runners with their reflective vest on climbed this hill together. What an accomplishment! I got so worried about him at one point that our van went on up to the exchange and I waited on the side of the road for him alone (except for all the wild animals) to make sure he was ok.
We then got to go to a hotel in Park City for a TOO SHORT 3 hour nap while our poor other six teammates ran through the night. At 4:30 AM we got the call that we needed to get to our third exchange. We all felt like zombies. I could not imagine getting up let alone run again! We drove to Oakley where I was first. I put on my ipod and took off. It took a little "Gu" but I made it through my third leg. Off went Macy, then Erin. Next Bryan on an incredibly hard third leg. Ryan took us in to Heber where Randy took the baton and finished our van's portion of the race. It was a great feeling to be done.
There is something pretty amazing about being on a team all trying to get to the finishline and counting on each other to get there. There were thousands of runners all trying to do the same thing. Its pretty powerful to watch. We had a great time acting like crazy college kids trying to live off no sleep and running all the while, but thinking the whole time...we are too old for this!

Happy Father's Day Rand! I couldn't be prouder! It was so much fun to spend all the time with you and watch you accomplish so much! Together, Randy and I ran 36.5 miles! Wahoo!

We Love you Randy! Happy Father's Day!

Oh yah and, Rand, you in for next year??

The Life I want

We just spent the last 5 days living the Lake Powell life. We were on a beautiful houseboat that some of our friends have ownership in, ate wonderful food, and had a blast. We spent our days on the boats wakeboarding, skiing, tubing (my favorite) and knee boarding. The kids made sandcastles, caught lizards, hiked up the red rocks and played in the water. Could a vacation be any more perfect. I have spent the last few days trying to figure out how we can get a boat!

We spent our nights playing games and enjoying friends, then going to bed under the stars. It was gorgeous. I don't think there is a more peaceful and wonderful place on earth!

Sad for our ward = Great Excitement for little boys

Our beautiful ward building was torn down today.  Its very sad for our ward.  Many of our ward members remember when it was built and have raised their children here.  The building was built in 1947 and is a darling colonial style ward house.  Sadly, because of the huge size of our wards, its not functional anymore...so down it goes, and up goes a big ol' stake center.  We have loved this building and are grateful for all our memories there including blessing Oliver.

I took the boys down today to meet friends for a picnic outside the construction site.  We watched them tear down chapel.  It was really cool to watch this huge machine tear away at it taking huge chunks of brick, roofing, windows and insulation.  My boys loved the excitement and being with friends.  Its was great fun!!

Summer has arrived for us

Life without schedule has begun for us. We woke up this morning and had no where to be. No kindermusik, no joy school and no preschool. We have been driving down to salt lake once a week for joy school and another day for Kindermusik..these are both over now. Also, since we have moved up to my parents house, Ike has been going down to one of my mom's preschools for the last few weeks of school. He has LOVED it. He asks, everyday, if it is the day for preschool. And the days I would tell him it was, he hurried downstairs to get dressed and find his backpack. The first day we went he was so excited that the moment I stopped the car in the parking lot he was out of his booster and had the door flung open. A little too fast because he fell right to the pavement...not a great start, but he was up and running to the classroom door anyway.

We didn't sit around long this morning though. We quickly jumped in the pool and had a fun morning in the sun. Life at Amma and Pop Pop's couldn't be better:)This is Ike's joy school group. We had two groups because so many darling kids wanted to join. We came together often for fieldtrips. We will miss all these cute kids and I will definately miss their fun moms!

I love this picture because every other kid in the area was chasing this Leopard back and forth...Ike was way to interested in downing his hot dog!
Bubble day at Preschool
I was so impressed with how quickly Ike joined in with the kids on all the activities and made friends. Its such a relief as a mom to know you child can do that! We love Ike for being confident and talkative to new kids!

Ollie's 1st "real" haircut!

I don't mean to downplay Randy's haircutting abilities by saying Ollie's previous haircuts by Randy weren't "real", but I have decided that, money aside, Cookie cutters is the way to go. They just know kids hair and make it such a fun experience!

Ollie sat there like an angel in his awesome "ahhpane" the entire time staring at baby Van gogh on his own little TV. The haircutter kept laughing at him because he was such a zombie. He looks darling and it sure beats the screaming fits Randy has been getting trying to cut Ollie and Ike's hair in the bathtub.

At one point, the hair cutter said, "I think he has a big bump on the side of his head!" I felt it and realized she was just talking about his big ol Noggin! I replied, "Nope, he has that on both sides." She looked at me in shock! "We call them his horns!"
